Over winter break, every JMU student received an email about a new policy concerning the latest trend in transportation: hoverboards. The email stated: “Due to concerns from the Consumer Product Safety Commission and guidance from the Virginia State Fire Marshal regarding the safety of hoverboards, James Madison University has decided to prohibit the devices and their chargers in all JMU-owned buildings including residence halls.”

After a number of unsafe incidents were reported, JMU, along with many other universities, took action.

The Daily Duke Team wanted to see if the students here were up to date on this new policy so we went out to see what they know and how they feel about it.
