Don’t have a car? Need to get home for winter break? JMU now offers a shuttle service to Charlottesville, which has an airport, train station, and Greyhound bus station.
The JMU Shuttle Service provides safe, convenient and comfortable transportation and is designed as a resource to help cater to the needs of the university and its students during the Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Breaks.
Without a car, you may find it very difficult to coordinate how to get home. Your family might not want to drive 6 hours down from the Northeast just to drive right back.
Trips are $35 per shuttle trip (to and from JMU) and students must self-register, and only one reservation per person per shuttle date will be allowed.
The shuttle departs to Charlottesville the Friday after classes end (December 16th) at 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
From Charlottesville to Harrisonburg after break, the shuttle leaves the Sunday before classes resume (January 8th) at 4:30 PM and again at 9:15 PM.
