Even though some of many students went to exotic and warm places, some JMU student athletes still had to compete in tournaments and games.
Baseball
Baseball had two tournaments against Buffalo and Coppin State over spring break.
March 3-5: Baseball vs. Buffalo
In the first game on March 3, The Dukes lost 13-8, but then won 14-6 in the second game and 9-4 in the final game with Buffalo.
March 10: Baseball vs. Coppin State
JMU won 16-2 in the first game and won 12-1 in the second.
Softball
JMU Softball had one tournament in Florida and then a few invitationals
Diamond 9 Tournament: March 3-5
Softball vs. Charlotte: JMU won 8-1.
Softball vs. South Alabama: JMU softball won 4-0!
Softball vs. Boston College: The Dukes won 1-0.
Softball vs. Mercer: JMU lost 4-0.
Softball vs. Kansas: The Dukes take home another win of 5 to 0.
Softball vs. University of Central Florida: March 8
JMU won 9 to 1.
ECU Invitational: March 10
Softball vs. Pitt: JMU wins 2-0!
ECU Invitational: March 11
Softball vs. Pitt: The Dukes win against Pitt once again, 11-0.
Tennis
Men’s Tennis vs. Virginia Tech: JMU loses 7-0
Men’s Tennis vs. The Citadel: The Dukes win 7-0 in their first matches against The Citadel and then win 5-2 in the second few.
Men’s Tennis vs. Coastal Carolina: Another loss for JMU at 5-2.
Women’s Basketball
2017 CAA Woman’s Basketball Championship
Woman’s Basketball vs. UNCW: JMU Woman’s basketball won 52 to 27 in the first game in the Championship!
Woman’s Basketball vs. Drexel: The Dukes win their second game 76-68.
Woman’s Basketball vs. Elon: In their final game of the championship, JMU loses 78-60.
