Throughout the summer, Dukes got to put the skills they’ve learned in class to the test. Internship programs are a great way for students to learn about a certain field and prepare them for the “real world.” Whether you’re a nursing major or business major, there are ample opportunities to gain experience in a vast range of fields.
The hashtag #JMUInternships was surfacing platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook throughout the summer months to show the world what JMU students have been up to. @JMUCap encouraged students to post a selfie at their internship for a chance to win a prize, and out of 65 posts, we picked our favorites!
@megrichh had an awesome internship planning and organizing for the League of United Latin American Citizens.
@Lyssie93 spent the summer utilizing what she’s learned in her nursing classes by working in the Intensive Care Unit at Maryview Medical Center!
@DavidEstebangg spent the summer working for PWC to show off his business skills!
@Survivor_Mojo had the opportunity to work in Charleston County Parks and Recreation Commission as a park intern!
