If you’re a graduating senior like myself, this is your last chance to experience a home football game in Bridgeforth Stadium as a JMU student. Even better, it’s a semifinal playoff game.

The top-seeded Dukes will host No. 5 South Dakota State this Saturday, December 16 at 4:30p.m. in Bridgeforth Stadium.

The Dukes’ playoff run has been a wild one. During the quarterfinal matchup vs. Weber State last Friday, the Dukes won in a thrilling, last-second 46-yard field goal by kicker, Ethan Ratke, extending JMU’s win streak to 25 straight games. The Dukes hold the second longest FCS win streak of all time, second only to North Dakota State, who currently holds the record with 33 consecutive wins. JMU beat NDSU in last year’s National Championship game in Frisco, Texas.

What better way to celebrate the end of the fall semester than by watching the Dukes take on South Dakota State in a semi-final playoff game? If you need more of a reason to attend the game, the Office of Residence Life announced Monday that any students living on-campus will be allowed to stay in their dorms Friday night to attend the game.

Additionally, JMU Sports announced on their Twitter page Sunday afternoon that two students in attendance at Saturday’s game will have a chance to win a spring semester scholarship valued at $3,125.

But wait! There’s more. Two additional students will also have the chance to win an 11-punch meal plan for the spring semester.

Saturday’s game is the only obstacle separating the Dukes between them and another appearance in the National Championship Game in Frisco, Texas, January 6, and will be the seniors’ last time playing in Bridgeforth EVER.

The Dukes have been on the National Stage since College GameDay visited in 2015 and again this past October. The world of college football has taken notice of our small town with a big heart and our powerhouse football team. The Dukes deserve all the national attention they’ve been getting. Now is another chance for this team to prove themselves and the student body to support them on the #RoadToFrisco.

Saturday, December 16, 4:30p.m. Bridgeforth Stadium. Be there!
